The main advantages of using Ocenaudio are:
- A very clear and easy to use interface
- Numerous filters
- Very useful file analysis and spectrogram
The only real problem with Ocenaudio is that the software is not open source. Even so, it is available for free and includes all that is needed for most podcasters and home musicians.
It is really easy to edit and make recordings with the use of the software. Using Oceanaudio only consumes minimum system resources so you can be sure that your computer is not going to crash, which is a huge problem with many free media apps on the market.
Ocenaudio includes many built-in filters, supports VST plugin additions and even if you cannot tinker with the code, this is not a problem.
A huge advantage with Ocenaudio, especially when compared with popular software like Audacity, is that it has a user interface that is not intimidating. You see open files on the left, in a list, and what you select will show its waveform on the screen.
With most of the free audio editors, you can use these days you can just clip and cut tracks. Oceanaudio is not like that. You can copy and paste audio sections, apply filters and apply effects. You can easily copy and paste a huge section of audio in just seconds and all filtering and encoding happen in the background. This means that you do not have to take a break as the file is being filtered or an effect is added as you do something else.
On the whole, Ocenaudio is a very good free audio editor that is very advanced and looks better than Audacity, which is pretty overwhelming.
