Software Description
Installing AIMP is very straightforward and simple. You click the download button, run the installer, it downloads all the files you need and then you get to install AIMP.
After installation, you open the software and you quickly realize the user interface is very simple, with a dark theme. It can be changed and you surely quickly notice the equalizer window.
There are 22 presets included in the equalizer. Choose the one you want or just manually adjust bars to create a perfect setting. There is also the option to auto-adjust the audio. Use the interface to adjust preamp level and speaker balance.
By default, the equalizer is not turned on. You can activate it when you use the DSP Manager. There, different other adjustments become available. You can, among others, change sound effects, like chorus, flanger, and echo. Choose out of various mixing options, including automatic and manual track switching.
Since AIMP is at its core an audio player, we should highlight that while you listen to music and a new track appears, the details of the track appear on the screen and linger for around 5 seconds. Also, the name of the track, together with facts like samplerate, bitrate, and size are automatically displayed in the software’s interface.
You can find all the common features you expect, like repeat and shuffle, but you can also choose out of various visualization options, including analog meters and graphic equalizers that react to the audio that is heard.
Speaking about utilities, AIMP includes the possibility of removing and adding tags and you have access to an audio converter. This supports many of the very popular formats, including FLAC, APE, OGG Vorbis, WMA, WavePack, and WAVE. MP3 is not added though because of some patent reasons. Even so, AIMP includes instructions you can use to work with MP3 files and you can play audio files in MP3 format without a problem.
