Pico Torrent can be used in 32- and 64-bit versions. You just have to use the appropriate edition for the system. No matter what you choose, the native feel and look are going to be the same. The software is built on Windows APIs.
Basically, Pico Torrent is written in C++, with the use of the Rasterbar-libtorrent, including Boost.System and Boost.Random. Dependencies are pre-packaged with the use of NuGet. This is just technical stuff though and you do not need to worry about it as a user.
The user interface is multi-lingual. The configuration is stored inside a JSON file, which is found in various locations, based on where the program is installed. When using the portable format, you find this close to the .exe file.
In Pico Torrent, you can use custom filters. Every single one has a name and a pattern. The pattern lets you use regular expressions in order to filter the required files. Some tasks can be simplified with the use of keyboard shortcuts. For instance, selected torrents and associated data can easily be removed with the use of “Shift+Delete”. You can select all the torrents with the use of “CTRL+A”. Expect to be able to use all keyboard shortcuts you are used to.
With Pico Torrent, you can use plug-ins. For instance, you can add the WebSocket server when torrent updates have to be broadcasted to the connected clients. However, this is a program that is not recommended to use for the internet traffic because of the lack of protection. The encryption in the Pico Torrent program includes encryption through HTTPS, SOCKS4, I2P, and SOCKS5 proxies. You can configure these in Preferences -> Connection. Anonymous mode is to be used when you want enhanced privacy.
